Angel Colon
My name is Angel Colon. I'm 23 years old, and I was a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Lancaster since I was 9 years old.
When I think of the Club, I remember ping-pong, the club store, the camp counselors; hanging out with friends, going to Scotland and the staff at the Club.
The Club was a safe place, a social outlet and a place to go for support and mentoring from the staff.
Scotland was definitely my favorite memory. I still talk about it.
I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for the Boys & Girls Club of Lancaster . The club kept me off the streets. It has a positive impact on kids but it is up to the kids to follow up.
The club is a place to go that is a safe and fun place. It is an alternate to the streets. The staff are like family to the kids -- they really care!
