The Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. In the years that followed, many of the Steps ignored conventional wisdom ("Don't quit your day job!"). Although no all of the current members are former Capitol hill staffers, taken together the performers have worked in a total of 18 Congressional offices and represent 62 years of collective House and Staff experience. Since they began, The Capitol Steps have recorded 28 albums. They have been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS.
	John Heffron was the winner of the second season of NBC's Last Comic Standing. The Detroit funnyman, who Phyllis Diller referred to as the "cute one", won a talent contract with NBC as well as other great opportunities. He has made many television appearances including NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and CBS's The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn. He has had two of his own Comedy Central Presents half-hour specials, as well as many others, and has performed at the prestigious Just for Laughs Comedy Festivals in Montreal and Bermuda and at the HBO Comedy Festival in Aspen.
